Guidelines for submitting manuscripts to International Journal of Astrophysics, Cosmology and Space Exploration
Manuscript Submission
Format: Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.docx) or LaTeX format via the journal’s online submission system or official email. All figures, tables, charts, and supplementary materials (e.g., simulation code, observational data, instrument specifications) must be high-resolution and properly formatted (.PNG, .JPEG, .PDF, .FITS headers for astronomical data, .SVG preferred for diagrams).
Cover Letter: Clearly state the manuscript’s contribution to astrophysics, cosmology, or space exploration, confirm originality, declare no prior/simultaneous submission, and highlight relevance to current debates in the field (e.g., dark matter, galaxy evolution, gravitational waves, space mission results).
Data & Code Availability: Authors are strongly encouraged (and may be required for simulation or observational studies) to deposit replication data, analysis pipelines, simulation outputs, or reduction scripts in public repositories (e.g., GitHub, Zenodo, astrophysics data centers) and provide a permanent link/DOI.
Manuscript Structure
Title Page: Include manuscript title, all author names & affiliations, ORCID iDs, corresponding author details (email & phone), and acknowledgments/funding statement (e.g., grants from space agencies, observatory support).
Abstract: 150–250 words summarizing research question, methodology (observational, theoretical, computational), main findings, and implications for understanding the universe or advancing space science.
Keywords: 4–6 keywords (e.g., cosmology, black holes, galaxy formation, exoplanets, space missions, gravitational waves, dark energy, stellar evolution).
Main Body: Typical structure: Introduction, Theoretical Framework / Observations, Methodology (simulation parameters, telescope specifications, data reduction), Results, Discussion, Conclusion, References. Review papers, technical reports, or mission updates may follow alternative logical structures.
References: Use APA, Chicago, or Harvard style consistently. Include DOIs where available. Preprints (arXiv), conference proceedings, and technical reports from space agencies are acceptable if properly cited.
Tables, Figures & Code: Number consecutively, include descriptive captions, and ensure they are understandable without reference to the text. For observational data, include relevant metadata (wavelength, exposure time, instrument). Simulation code or analysis scripts may be provided as supplementary material or via repositories.
Ethics & Disclosure
Ethical Standards: Authors must ensure research integrity, proper handling of observational data (e.g., from telescopes or space missions), and compliance with applicable laws (e.g., data sharing policies of observatories). Studies involving human subjects (rare in astrophysics, e.g., astronaut health) require ethics approval/IRB statement.
Conflicts of Interest: Disclose any financial interests, consulting roles, or affiliations (e.g., with aerospace companies, space agencies, or instrument manufacturers) that could be perceived as influencing the work.
Plagiarism & AI Disclosure: All submissions are screened for plagiarism. Use of generative AI tools (e.g., for text generation, code writing) must be transparently declared in the methods or acknowledgments section.
Review Process
Peer Review: Double-blind peer review by experts in astrophysics, cosmology, planetary science, space instrumentation, or related fields.
Revisions: Authors are expected to respond point-by-point to reviewer comments within the given timeframe (usually 4–8 weeks).
Final Decision: Editorial Board makes the final decision based on scientific rigor, novelty, methodological soundness, and relevance to advancing astrophysics and space exploration.
Copyright & Open Access
Copyright: Authors retain copyright and grant the journal non-exclusive publishing rights under a Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license (or equivalent open-access license).
Article Processing Charge (APC): USD 689 upon acceptance. Discounts or waivers may be available for authors from low-income countries, early-career researchers, or special issues — contact the editorial office.
