Instructions for Authors

Guidelines for submitting manuscripts to The Global Consumer Intelligence Review (TGCIR)

Manuscript Submission
  • Format: Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.docx) or LaTeX format via the journal’s online submission system or official email. All figures, tables, charts, code snippets, and supplementary materials must be high-resolution and properly formatted (.PNG, .JPEG, .PDF, .SVG preferred for diagrams and visualizations).
  • Cover Letter: Clearly state the manuscript’s contribution to consumer intelligence, insights, behavioral analytics or market research, confirm originality, declare no prior/simultaneous submission, and highlight relevance to current debates in consumer behavior, data-driven marketing, AI applications, or global trends.
  • Data & Code Availability: Authors are strongly encouraged (and may be required in empirical studies) to deposit replication data, analysis code, survey instruments, or model implementations in public repositories (e.g., GitHub, Zenodo, OSF, Harvard Dataverse) and provide a permanent link/DOI.
Manuscript Structure
  • Title Page: Include manuscript title, all author names & affiliations, ORCID iDs, corresponding author details (email & phone), and acknowledgments/funding statement.
  • Abstract: 150–250 words summarizing research question, methodology, main findings, and implications for consumer insights, marketing practice, behavioral understanding, or data-driven decision-making.
  • Keywords: 4–6 keywords (e.g., consumer intelligence, consumer insights, behavioral analytics, predictive analytics, AI in marketing, consumer segmentation, sustainable consumption, cross-cultural consumer behavior).
  • Main Body: Typical structure: Introduction, Literature Review, Theoretical Framework, Methodology, Data & Analysis, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, References. Review papers, methodological advances, or case studies may follow alternative logical structures.
  • References: Use APA, Chicago, or Harvard style consistently. Include DOIs where available. Preprints, working papers, and industry reports are acceptable if properly cited.
  • Tables, Figures & Code: Number consecutively, include descriptive captions, and ensure they are understandable without reference to the text. Interactive visualizations, R/Python code appendices, or GitHub links are welcome for reproducibility.
Ethics & Disclosure
  • Ethical Standards: Authors must ensure research integrity, proper data handling, and compliance with applicable laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, ethical data collection in surveys or online tracking). Studies involving human participants require ethics approval/IRB statement and informed consent details.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Disclose any financial interests, consulting roles, industry funding, or affiliations (e.g., with market research firms, tech companies, or brands) that could be perceived as influencing the work.
  • Plagiarism & AI Disclosure: All submissions are screened for plagiarism. Use of generative AI tools (e.g., for text generation, data analysis support) must be transparently declared in the methods or acknowledgments section.
Review Process
  • Peer Review: Double-blind peer review by experts in consumer behavior, marketing analytics, behavioral economics, data science, psychology, or related fields.
  • Revisions: Authors are expected to respond point-by-point to reviewer comments within the given timeframe (usually 4–8 weeks).
  • Final Decision: Editorial Board makes the final decision based on scientific rigor, novelty, methodological soundness, and relevance to advancing consumer intelligence and insights.
Copyright & Open Access
  • Copyright: Authors retain copyright and grant the journal non-exclusive publishing rights under a Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license (or equivalent open-access license).
